I feel like I should stand up for what I believe in today. So, my view on gay marriage: not a good idea.
I'm all for having free agency and equality, but for me to say that it is okay for gay people to get married is like me saying that it is okay to sin. Even if you're "born that way," the fact is, homosexuality is a sin. End of story. We were sent to Earth to overcome our innermost temptations and desires, regardless of how strong they are.
This doesn't mean that I hate gay people, or judge them. I know and care about a lot of gay people. I just don't like the sin. I make my mistakes, you make yours. We live, we love, we all make mistakes, we get on with life.
I could go on and on about this, but I'll leave it at that. I'm not ashamed to express my beliefs, even if it may offend some people. I hope it doesn't, because I do care about all people equally. I love the fact that I live in a free country where we can express our thoughts and beliefs freely. I also love that we are all different and have different opinions.

I thought of a new song remake the other day while it was chilly outside. The first words came to me on the way to the car. Then I made up some more words last night, because it was stuck in my head. It's to the tune, "Your Song" by Elton John.

Cutting In
Okay, so we got these beautiful, colorful knives at RC Willey for FREE a little while ago. I used the paring knife the other day for the first time, and guess what! It's my favorite! I never knew cutting veggies could be so easy! The knives we currently have are junk. I have to saw my way through everything with them. But this one made my life a whole lot easier. It's amazing how using the right tool can make such a difference. And did I mention we got it for FREE? I just wanted to emphasize that.

5 Months Celebrated With a Cold
Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great day!
Lydia has turned 5 months! Whoa! She has enjoyed a new game of picking up links and putting them in a container. I help guide her arm, but she does the picking up and dropping. I'm so proud of her! She is still working on rolling from back to belly. That dang arm just keeps getting in the way! She's mastered the belly to back roll. I'm not sure if she's teething or not. She drools, and drools, and drools . . . and drools. She also likes to put anything and everything in her mouth. I'm not sure if that's an exploratory thing or a teething thing. Let's hope those teeth hold out a couple months longer so that I don't have to worry about sharp teeth while I nurse. Yeowza!
She has also received her second cold. It's kind of good, to build up her immunity, but I really hate seeing my baby sick. I worry about her all night long, wondering if she's still breathing. I'm a pretty tired mamma today. I woke up like four times last night, just to check on her. We still have the BBG machine and use it a lot, but sometimes it doesn't get everything, especially when I'm going solo. She HATES it! I don't blame her. I'd hate it too. She has started recognizing the tip of the tube and starts screaming when she sees it in my hand. Then, it gets worse when I turn on the machine. She needs to be held down while being sucked out because her head moves like crazy. So, you can see my dilemma. It's hard to hold her down AND suck her out at the same time. Then, when it's done, she keeps screaming, and she looks at me like, "How could you, Mom?" I feel inadequate and like I'm a terrible mother. I know it's to help her breathe, but it's still heartbreaking. She's a trooper, though. She's still a happy girl. Not quite as happy as she normally is, but still happy and good-natured. I'm really lucky to have her, but I'm not sure I deserve such a good baby.
We're all entitled to a sad mommy moment, right? Whether we want it or not.

Baby Legs
I made Lydia some baby legs! They're leg warmers for babies.
I found a super easy tutorial on Pinterest. I used some socks of mine that had holes. All you do is cut off the foot part and sew around the bottom with a zigzag stitch, and viola! Instant baby legs!
Well, it was easy except for one part. My sewing machine jammed up, so I took them to my parents' house and used my mom's sewing machine. I need to figure out how to fix my machine now.

Bucket List
I'm pretty sure we all have a "bucket list" of sorts, whether you realize it or not. Just wanting to accomplish something is sort of like having a bucket list.
I have a bucket list for what I want to accomplish some time in the future. Keep in mind that some of these items on my list are never going to happen. Others may happen, and if a certain few don't happen, I'll be pretty disappointed.
So, here it is, in no particular order:
-Live to see my grandchildren
-Have another child or two . . . or three
-Learn to tune a piano
-Own a baby grand piano
-Own a house big enough to fit a grand piano
-Learn to reupholster furniture
-Travel to Europe
-Perform on Broadway - it's a long-shot and probably will never happen
-Learn to play guitar
-Get another college degree - I'm not sure what I want to do yet, but I want a degree that will actually do me some good (I have a degree in dance, and I can't do much with it.)
-Have a career when my kids are all school-age
-Be an involved parent
-Learn self-defense or karate . . . or something similar
-Remodel and decorate an entire house (old house, of course) and put it in a home show
-Get lasik eye surgery - um, I'm terrified of this one
-Write a novel or two, and get it published - also terrifying
-Have the hang-out house for the kids when they're teenagers
-Raise my kids to be good people
-Have a 50th anniversary with my hubby
-Go on a mission with my hubby
-Buy my dream home
There will probably be more added later, but this is what I have so far.
