Another Project Finished!
Well, it's been a while since I've had a project get finished. Actually, I finished this project the day I started it! It was one of those easy crafty projects. I repainted an old side table. It was already prepped for work, so I just had to do a few finishing touches on the sanding. The table came from my grandpa's house. His house caught on fire, so in order to salvage his furniture, it had to be stripped. We've had the table in our house for a year and a half now, so I thought it was past time to make it look pretty again. This project was very similar to redoing my chairs, but much easier, because there is no fabric involved. Here are some pictures of my project.
This is how it looked before I painted it. See how much it was in need of a makeover? Well, I had painted the top of it, so that's why you see a little bit of black paint here and there. I forgot to take a true before picture.
It's drying outside. Notice the newspapers below it. I didn't want to paint my patio as well. (I used spray paint.)

Favorites
Well, nothing exciting has happened at the Welling house lately. So, I've decided to give you a list of some of my favorite things.
Movies
When in Rome (I just watched this last week, and I loved it! I laughed out loud so many times! It's kind of a cheesy chick flick, but if you're in the mood for a romantic comedy that isn't very realistic, this is for you. It has a lot of great actors. There are a couple of actors that you Utahn's might know of. I'll let you figure out that one for yourselves when you watch it.)
10 Things I Hate About You (I've loved this one since I was a teenager! Best part is when Heath Ledger/Patrick sings on the bleachers.)
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (This is hilarious! If you haven't seen it, then do! It's especially good for us nerds in the world.)
Prince of Persia (Full of action, almost unrequited romance that finally happens in the end--don't worry, I didn't give anything away, and comedy.)
Inception (One of the best movies I've seen! It's very intense and makes you think. It's perfect for people who don't want to watch a romance.)
Despicable Me (Holy Crud! This movie is absolutely hilarious!!! It is great for kids, but has plenty of crossover appeal for adults. I've seen it about five times in the past three months.)
Stardust (When Lance and I were first married, we went to the movies, and decided on this one. We had no clue what it was about, but we tried it anyway. It was one of those times where things actually went well. We loved it! It has action, romance, comedy, fantasy, betrayal, etc. It's got everything!)
Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton is a genius! And who could not like Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? Love it!)
Arsenic and Old Lace (Okay, this one is in black and white. Some people don't like old black and white movies, Lance included. But I made Lance watch this with me, and guess what! It's one of his favorites now too because it's so funny! Who doesn't like Carey Grant? This movie is perfect for Halloween if you don't like getting scared too much. Or, you could watch it any time.)
John Tucker Must Die (The title is deceiving. There is no killing going on around here. This is one of those funny high school comedies. John Tucker is a player, and to teach him a lesson, a new girl dates him, being coached by three of his ex-girlfriends. So funny!)
Head Over Heels (Not many people know of this one. It was made about ten years ago. It has Freddy Prince Jr. and Monica Potter. It's about this girl who moves in with models, and their apartment overlooks a guy's apartment that she likes. It's really funny and really cute. Just be open to the humor.)
Okay, there are tons more that I love, but I'd have a forever long post if I posted all of them.
Books
Harry Potter series
Twilight series
Leven Thumps series
Fablehaven series
Percy Jackson series
These books are all fantasy, I know, but they are books that I would read over and over, and that's saying something, because I'm very picky about what I read. There are lots more books that I like, but these are my absolute favorites.
Music
Avril Lavigne (Her new song is a little risqué, but I like it a lot!)
Animal by Neon Trees (If you look up the music video, it's kind of weird, but the song is great!)
Jane Monheit (She is a jazz singer with a beautiful voice, and she sings a lot of vintage songs that I love!)
Owl City (He has clean, funny, clever lyrics! I'd even let my kids listen to him . . . If I had any kids. Look up "Rugs From Me to You" on Youtube. You'll laugh your head off!)
Rhythm of Love by Plain White T's (I love the acoustic guitar!)
I like tons more, but once again, we'd be here forever. I hope that you give some of these things a try, if you already haven't. Hopefully it will give you something to do in the next little while. :)

A Day of Birthdays
This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to celebrate three birthdays in two parties. First, we went to my sister's house to celebrate her two boys' birthdays, Connor (turning 10 tomorrow), and Declan (turning 1 on Friday). Then, we went to Lance's dad's house to celebrate Lance's sister, Melissa's birthday (she's an adult, so it would be rude of me to divulge her age). I didn't get pictures at Melissa's party, because everyone else there took tons of pictures, and we always share, but I got tons of pictures of the boys' party. I'll only share a few, though, because it would take a long time to upload all of them.
Katie and Brielle had fun playing in Brielle's princess tent. This is Katie peeking through the window hole.
