The other day, we tested the stain we wanted to use in a small section of the floor. It looks gorgeous!!! I'm so excited to get it all done. We have to wait until it's warmer outside, though, because we need to keep the windows open for ventilation when doing the polyurethane coats. It will probably smell pretty bad. But that gives me all the time in the world to finish scraping the kitchen floor. Here are some pictures of our beautiful stain.

Kitchen Floor Updates
Well, our ongoing project for 2011 is still happening. I have scraped the glue off the floor in the hallway pod, and have started in the kitchen.
The other day, we tested the stain we wanted to use in a small section of the floor. It looks gorgeous!!! I'm so excited to get it all done. We have to wait until it's warmer outside, though, because we need to keep the windows open for ventilation when doing the polyurethane coats. It will probably smell pretty bad. But that gives me all the time in the world to finish scraping the kitchen floor. Here are some pictures of our beautiful stain.
In order for the stain to look its best, you have to sand down the wood. Lance did a great job on this.
Here is the section we stained. As you can see, the area around it hasn't been scraped yet. See how hard my job is?
